Ask yourself what you require from your hotel when taking a short break in Torquay, or anywhere else for that matter, home or abroad? One of them has to be free Wifi, along with good food and great facilities our guests are increasingly asking for the ‘Wifi code’.
According to a recent study, Wi-fi is the most important feature a hotel can offer their guests, even more important than luxury mattresses, gymnasium or free breakfast and parking. Other studies suggest that over a quarter of British people would not stay in a hotel if it did not offer free Wifi. Guests expect to get a high performance, safe, fast wireless internet connection and, for many, this is the main criteria when selecting a hotel.
Here at the Lincombe Hall Hotel we have always had free Wifi in our lounge areas but, wanting to keep up with our guests wants and needs, we have just finished the installation of free Wifi across the entire hotel, including all public areas and bedrooms. We anticipate the need for internet connection by our guests to carry on escalating and do not intend to disappoint!
So if you are considering a short break in Torquay and Wifi is top on your list of priorities when choosing your hotel, why not book the Lincombe Hall, not only are we award winning with great food and facilities but we now offer all our guests exactly what they have come to expect in this very modern age.
If you have visited the English Riviera or Exeter over the last month you cannot have failed to notice the giant gorilla sculptures dotted around – 30 in all!
Paignton Zoo have come up with the idea to celebrate 90 years of conservation and to help raise awareness and money for the plight of the Cross River gorillas of Nigeria, the world’s most endangered species, to the point of near extinction.
You can print off a trail map and every time you locate one of the beautifully designed sculptures you are encouraged to register it on line by ‘checking-in’. Those that can find them all will be entered into a draw and has the chance to win a trip to Paignton Zoo to meet the real gorillas up close.
It’s that time of the year again when we start thinking about Christmas and the New Year. Some of us like to stay at home for the festivities but a growing number like to get away and have others do all the hard work for them. There has never been a better time to spend Christmas in Torquay, don’t just think of South Devon as a summer destination, there is lots going on throughout the year and Christmas on the English Riviera is no different. Here at the Lincombe Hall we manage to create a unique atmosphere that gives you that Christmas feeling the minute you pull onto our drive, as you can see from our stunning fairy lights!
Lincombe Hall’s Fairy Lights
Christmas in Torquay has always been special and this year will be no different. Babbacombe Model Village has it’s famous Winter Wonderland running from December 14th 2013 to January 5th 2014 with it’s amazing realistic snow effects covering much of the gardens. A truly stunning winter landscape complete with picture-postcard thatched villages covered in snow. From dusk, the best time to visit, thousands of lights twinkle and sparkle turning this wonderland into a magical world.
Kents Cavern are giving you the opportunity to meet Santa in his underground grotto. Join the Christmas Gang on an underground fun filled adventure in search of Santa. A pantomime show around the decorated caverns with interactive “pie-making” and live “present-wrapping”.
If you fancy a trip to the theatre the choice is endless, here in Torquay the Princess Theatre is hosting many acts, shows and pantomimes over the Christmas period, including That’ll Be The Day Christmas Special, Jack and the Beanstalk, Royal Marines Christmas Spectacular, and many, many more.
So if you feel like leaving all the hard work to someone else over Christmas and the New Year and enjoying a break in Torquay, why not visit us at the Lincombe Hall, where we have the festive period covered the minute you walk through the door.
It’s that time of the year again, the summer has arrived and with it the Torquay Wedding season. Here at the Lincombe Hall Hotel we pride ourselves in making sure that our weddings are the very best that the English Riviera has to offer, in terms of personal service, food, and above all, venue. Our beautiful dining room is decorated to ensure that no matter what colour accessories the bride chooses it will look fabulous.
So many couples now are choosing to hold their Wedding Service at the hotel they have chosen for their reception, with this in mind, the Lincombe Hall applied for a wedding license to enable the ceremony to be held here at the hotel, this came into place at the end of last year and 2013 has seen the start of couples having the ceremony followed by the reception with us, both held in our beautiful dining room overlooking the pool and grounds.
Each Lincombe Hall Wedding is tailored individually to suit the bride and groom, we try our very best to accommodate your special requests, for example, our bride and groom last weekend, instead of a traditional buffet for their evening guests, opted for a Hog Roast here in the gardens, the weather was fine and the guests had a wonderful time.
Here at the Lincombe Hall in Torquay, we offer a very personal wedding service, meeting with the couple as often as they require to make sure they are happy with all the arrangements right up until the big day. We know and care how important this day is to you.
