English Riviera scoops Tourism Awards

The English Riviera has had a phenomenal past year, with awards for all areas of hospitality streaming in, with Torquay standing out as amongst the very best place to visit this coming summer.

Following the ‘English Riviera and South Devon Awards’, seven local businesses then made it into the ‘Visit Devon Tourism Awards’ which took place in November last year, a total of eight nominations were put forward and we scooped an amazing 2 commended and 3 silver, the Somerville taking gold for ‘Bed and Breakfast and Guest Accommodation of the Year’, the ERTC taking gold for the ‘Agatha Christie Festival Tourism Event of the Year’ and Claire Preece of Kents Cavern also taking gold for ‘Outstanding Customer Service Award’. Well done to everyone!

Following on from this were numerous awards in the ‘South West England Tourism Excellence Awards 2012/2013′ in which the English Riviera again proved it is one of the very best tourist destinations in the UK scooping 2 highly commended, 1 bronze and 2 silver awards!

Most recently in the ‘Visit England Awards for Excellence’, Claire Preece won the ‘Tourism Superstar Award’ for Kents Cavern. Well done Claire! 

The Lincombe Hall Hotel in Torquay, South Devon, is delighted to have received three Hotel Tourism Awards following the £1 million refurbishment. Winning ‘Hotel of the Year for South Devon and the English Riviera’, followed by Bronze for ‘Visit Devon Tourism Awards 2012′, and then a Highly Commended place in the ‘South West Tourism Excellence Awards 2012-2013′. What a great year….
